Wijnaldum scored two vs Barcelona but it is this stunning piece of skill that has got the world talking about Liverpool hero
GINI WIJNALDUM scored twice to help Liverpool produced one of the greatest Champions League comebacks of all time, but the night will also be remembered for his incredible piece of skill against Barcelona.
The Dutchman only came on due to Barca striker Luis Suarez kicking Andy Robertson out of the game.
But the 28-year-old made an immediate impact hitting a quick-fire double to get Liverpool back on level terms and send the Kop rocking.
And after Divock Origi scored what proved to be the winner, Wijnaldum showed his class with a moment of magic to embarrass the Catalan giants.
Under huge pressure from Sergio Busquets and Arthur, he instinctively dropped his shoulder and turned in between the pair leaving them for dead.
And he had the presence of mind to keep his composure and pick a simple pass to Origi on the left wing to keep the pressure on the visitors who were chasing the game late on.
Wijnaldum’s performance capped an incredible night at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp’s men steamrollered Barca to reach the Champions League final the second year in a row.
After the game, the midfielder revealed his anger towards Klopp for not starting him in the return leg.
He told BT Sport: “After the game we were confident we could score four at home and win 4-0.
“The people from outside they doubted us and thought we couldn’t do it, but once again we showed that everything is possible and we won 4-0.
“Yeah, I’m really emotional because I was really angry at the manager that he put me on the bench!
