OVERWATCH’S latest map is here at last, and you can play it on the game’s regular live servers right now.
The latest patch, 1.35.1.1 brings in the Cuban map after the city featured in the Archives event last month.
Havana is an Escort map, as we predicted when the first images launched, and will see players try and escort a truck full of rum barrels from the Taller de Sebastián all the way to the Havana Sea Fort through the Don Rumbotico rum distillery.
Along the way there are buildings to dive into and through for cover, and plenty of first-floor windows and rooftops to dominate.
It is worth noting that if you’re on defence, then there is line-of-sight from inside the entrance of the spawn directly to the end of the escort route.
This means it is possible for anyone to take inspiration from London Spitfire’s main tank Gesture’s recent cheeky kill against Paris and switch to sniper Widowmaker and fire off a few quick shots before switching to whichever hero they’re planning to run out as.
This opens up the possibility for a few very quick kills for anyone as they respawn, as well as a relative well-defended sniping spot for any Widow mains out there.
The whole map is very Widow-friendly, with plenty of high ground above narrow alleys to grapple up to and rain death from.
Defenders also have an advantage thanks to the positioning of the final spawn points for attackers.
Due to the layout of the Sea Fort and end of the distillery, defenders are finding themselves being wiped out as they step out of their spawn point when trying to regroup for an assault on the final point.
The patch also brings in two new legendary skins to celebrate Overwatch League’s second upcoming All-Star event.
