BRITNEY Spears has been pictured for the first time since she filed a restraining order against her former manager ahead of her mum’s court battle this week.
The 37-year-old star looked tired as she was driven in her white Mercedes by her bodyguard.
She had her blonde hair tied into a messy ponytail and was dressed casually in a white top over a pink vest as she and her guard drove through Los Angeles.
The photos come after it was revealed that Britney had asked for a restraining order against her ex manager Sam Lutfi earlier this week.
TMZ reported that the mother-of-two’s lawyers filed paperwork with the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday accusing Lutfi of repeatedly texting Britney’s mother, Lynne.
Lutfi has also been accused of trying to incite the star’s fans with the #FreeBritney movement, referring to a fan theory that Britney has been held against her will at a mental health facility.
The court documents claim the manager has posed “disparaging and threatening comments” against both Britney and her family in recent weeks, accusing him of “engaging in vigilante action, bribes and release of private information”.
They hope that the restraining order will “prevent future harm and further psychological trauma” to all involved.
Lutfi is said to have sent 64-year-old Lynne a string of critical text messages for not doing more amid the family crisis – even trying to persuade her to “disrupt and take over” Britney’s conservatorship, offering a $1,000 sum that she declined to take, the publication claims.
A conservatorship is a court case that sees a judge appoint a responsible person or organisation to care for another adult. In this instance, Britney’s father Jamie has been her conservator since 2008 – a year after the star suffered a highly-publicised breakdown that saw her shave her head and attack the paparazzi with an umbrella.
What is a conservatorship?
A conservatorship is when “an adult with a relationship to the individual, perhaps a spouse or other relative, [petitions] a county probate court for control over his or her affairs.”
It’s normally used when an adult “lacks mental capacity” to safely make their own decisions – commonly when someone is suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, or is psychotic or suicidal.
In this case, Britney’s dad Jamie, and her lawyer Andrew Wallett (who quit the position last month) would approve every personal, medical and financial decision she made.
Britney’s dad approves her spending, and any big decisions like getting married and buying houses. He also approves jobs – like taking on tours, Las Vegas residencies and joining shows like US X Factor.
The documents also accuse Lutfi of blackmailing the family with “trunks” of Britney’s personal information that he allegedly threatened to make public.
The Spears’ legal team have asked for a restraining order that forces Lutfi to cease all contact with, and remain 200 yards away from, Britney and her entire family – including sons, Sean, 13, and 12-year-old Jayden.
It has been a difficult time for her parents’ with Lynne and Jamie, at odds over the administration of their daughter’s conservatorship.

Lynne has gone to the courts to ask for a say in the star’s conservatorship, wanting to be legally named on the official documents.
TMZ report that Lynne wants her lawyer to be involved in a court hearing with regard to the situation on Friday.
Britney touched on her family’s problems last month, saying in an Instagram clip: “My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal.
“But don’t worry, I’ll be back very soon.”
