Sophie Turner points finger at Emilia Clarke for Game of Thrones Starbucks cup blunder
SOPHIE TURNER has blamed Emilia Clarke for the Game of Thrones coffee cup blunder after her husband, Joe Jonas, accused her of being the culprit during The Tonight Show.
The 23-year-old star also revealed that Jamie Lannister actor, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, noticed the gaffe when watching the episode – and text the rest of the cast to tell them.

All of the gossip came out when Sophie, who plays Sansa Stark in the fantasy drama, appeared on the US chat show and Jimmy showed her a video message from Joe.
In the clip, the beauty’s new husband says: “I watch a lot of Game of Thrones and I was wondering… You’re definitely responsible for that coffee cup, right?”
Sophie looked shocked as Jimmy got out two pictures – one of the coffee cup that was clearly on show in a banquet scene from this week’s episode, and one of Sophie holding a similar-looking cup while posing for a photo with Lyanna Mormont actress Bella Ramsey.
The British actress exclaimed: “Right, let’s clear this up once and for all.

“For all of you guys that watch Game of Thrones, this girl [Lyanna] dies in one of the episodes – and this [the banquet] is a scene from after she dies.
“That’s a different scene, and also we all have the same cups for all of our water and tea and everything.
“So I am going to go with… Well, look who it is placed in front of…”
Jimmy and the live studio audience gasped as Sophie pointed to Daenerys Targaryen actress Emilia, 32, in the photo.

Sophie confirmed: “Emilia Clarke. She’s the culprit.”
Jimmy then asked if the Thrones cast text each other about the cup, with Sophie revealing: “There was one text from Nikolaj who plays Jamie Lannister.
“He just wrote: ‘Great episode, is that a coffee cup?'”
Earlier this week, Emilia poked fun at the coffee cup scandal as she shared a photo of herself drinking from a similar one with her co-stars before filming.

She captioned the image: “Did I just stumble upon the truth here?!
“The cup bearer does not drinketh the Starbucks tea.”
Game of Thrones fans slammed the show when they noticed the modern item during the medieval dinner, with showrunners making light of the mistake on social media before it was edited out of re-reuns of the show.
They tweeted: “The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered a herbal tea.”
