DANIEL Craig has been injured while filming an action scene for the new Bond film in Jamaica.
The super-spy actor, 51, slipped while running in his trademark suit for the new 007 blockbuster and had to be flown to the US for X-rays – holding up production.
Hollywood star Craig is said to have been examined by the same surgeon who treated England football ace Harry Kane earlier this year.
A source told The Sun that the performer – who insists on doing nearly all of his own stunts – flew into a frustrated rage after the tumble.
They said: “Daniel was suited and booted for one of the last scenes in Jamaica.
“He was sprinting during filming when he slipped and fell quite awkwardly.
“He was in quite a lot of pain and was complaining about his ankle.
“As you’d expect he was also pretty angry that it had happened. He threw his suit jacket on the ground in sheer frustration.”
Bosses are hoping production will not be held up for long.
But The Sun understands that filming at Pinewood Studios in London, scheduled for this coming weekend, has been cancelled as a result of Craig’s knock.
He has already been examined by the same US doc who looked after Tottenham strike Kane when he flew to the States in January following a series of ankle injuries.
Our source added: “Daniel flew out of Jamaica for the US and has already seen a specialist.
“In a pure coincidence it’s the same surgeon who treated Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane. He’s hoping it won’t delay things for too long.”
Action-man Craig has seen his body take a battering since taking over as Bond in 2005.
He sustained a brutal blow to the face in his first-ever stunt scene as 007 for Casino Royale.
Two of his teeth were accidentally knocked out and his dentist had to fly out from London to the film location to fix caps into his mouth.
He tore a muscle in his shoulder, injured his ribs and sliced off the tip of his fourth finger during filming for Quantum of Solace.
And an injury to his knee during a fight scene for 2015’s Spectre saw filming suspended for two weeks while he had surgery.
Speaking about his list of Bond injuries later that year, he said: “I’ve had my right shoulder re-constructed, my right and left knees operated on and my thumb hurts!”
His injury is the latest set-back to hit the new movie – Bond’s 25th outing – which has seen repeated claims of crisis and infighting. Filming wrapped up in Jamaica last week.
At the official launch of the new film last month, producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson were forced to admit they still hadn’t come up with a title for the blockbuster.
There is also no completely finished script and new Bond girl Ana de Armas has indicated that she is yet to discuss her role with US director Cary Fukunaga.
