And in the end they cruised to glory in style as they destroyed the Europa League semi-finalists 5-1.
That meant Jadon Sancho and his Dortmund side were disappointed, even though the England star scored the opener in the 2-0 win at Borussia Monchengladbach.
England star Sancho needed VAR to clear his 12th goal of the season away to Borusia Monchengladbach to earn Dortmund a half-time lead in their final match.
And for a brief moment there seem the chance of a major upset when Frankfurt equalised Kinglsey Coman’s first-half goal through Sebastien Haller just after the break.
But Munich shrugged of the shock of conceded by going straight up and restoring their lead two minutes later through David Alaba.
And though Dortmund strengthened their hopes of all three points when Marco Reus doubled their lead in Monchengladbach, Bayern took a firm grip on the title when Renato Sanches made it 3-1 at the Allianz Arena.

That goal was enough for veterans Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben to be introduced as substitutes for the final appearances before leaving the club.
Ribery made sure he celebrated with a goal soon after, cutting inside the challenge of two defenders to dink his shot into the net.
The players had only just stopped mobbing the Frenchman when Robben decided to get on the act, touching home from close range to finish his career off with a goal.
