NATHAN GORMAN knows 12 rounds with heavyweight rival Daniel Dubois will be nothing compared to eight days watching his son fight for his life.
Just weeks before the British title showdown between the former Team GB sparring partners was announced, two-year-old Nathan Jr was hit with pneumonia.
Giant Gorman, Travelling royalty thanks to bareknuckle boxing king uncle Bartley, was left helpless watching his first born battle the illness in April.
But the little warrior is back on his tiny feet and pestering his dad for playfights as he prepares for the biggest night of his career.
The 22-year-old cousin of Tyson Fury said: “When you are a father and that happens to someone you love, you feel so helpless because there is nothing you can do about it.
“He was in intensive care for eight days but they did a marvellous job with him.
“He had to go through rehabilitation but he is back home now and doing really well.
“He’s a Mini-Me and is already back up to his old tricks. I am a very hands-on dad, if I am not at training I am picking him up and cuddling him and loving him. He is my boy isn’t he?”
Gorman will add another tot to his corner in July and there’s every chance kid No 2 could arrive just as he’s stepping in the ring against 6ft 5in powerhouse Dubois at the O2 on July 13.
There is no chance of the 16-0 starlet missing the fight, though.
He said: “When I am in training I have to sacrifice everything — including my time with him and my wife.
“I have to give 100 per cent to this fight, not just for myself but for my two sons’ future.”
Gorman claims he never lost one of the 300 rounds against Dubois, 21, over three years at the English Institute of Sport.

He added: “Me and Daniel have always been rivals and now we are here — No 1 will go forward, the loser will have to regroup.
“He is stiff and robotic and that works for him.
“How many heavyweights out there are not stiff and robotic? Only really Tyson and myself who are not and are more elusive.”
