THE Premier League’s top four are far superior to their European rivals, according to the stats.
In general, the best clubs in England picked up more points, scored more and conceded fewer than their Big Five rivals.
Not only that, the two European finals for 2019 are comprised solely of Premier League clubs – the first time all four teams have come from the same nation in history.
According to research from AmericanGambler.com, the Prem’s top four won a combined 68.4 per cent of their matches in 2018-19.
The next best number came from Germany’s Bundesliga, where the top four won 61.8 per cent of their games.
La Liga came dead-last in that category on a measly 55.26 per cent.
LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN
Meanwhile, the Premier League’s top-four picked up an average of 2.22 points per game, miles above the other four European leagues.
Again, Spain’s top-flight limped home last at just 1.92 per game, with the other three between 2.03 and 2.04.
Only the Bundesliga out-scored the Premier League, with the German top-four scoring 2.21 goals per game, to England’s 2.06.
In terms of goals conceded, the English top-flight’s best four ranked best, at just 0.81 conceded per match.

The Bundesliga might be the best scorers, but also boast the leakiest defences at 1.15 shipped per game.
Incredibly, nine of the ten top sides from France, Spain, Italy and Germany were knocked out by English opposition in the Champions League and Europa League.
