The Georgia election interference case against Donald Trump and others is now in the hands of a new prosecutor. Courts removed Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis because of an “appearance of impropriety.” Pete Skandalakis, executive director of the Prosecuting Attorneys' Council, has taken over after failing to find another prosecutor. The indictment, returned in August 2023, alleges a conspiracy to overturn Trump's 2020 loss to Joe Biden in Georgia. Skandalakis said he plans to review the case thoroughly. The judge has set a Dec. 1 status hearing.
