In response to Jonah Goldberg’s column (“‘Jim Crow’ criticism of Georgia voting law doesn’t fit,” April 14) on Georgia’s new voting law and Jim Crow: Until Republicans confront their fear of growing minority power, our country will remain engulfed in racial, religious, and political unrest. Georgia’s new law codifies unequal access and, therefore, unequal rights. Although not 19th Century Jim Crow, such voter restrictions are based on a similar fear of growing minority power.

Lorna Lynn Snyder (1953-2021)

[1953-2021] Lorna Lynn Snyder, whose proficiency in science — and interest in rocks — led to a university degree and graduate studies, teaching, and a geotechnical position with a well-known firm, died Tuesday in her Swanton Township home. She was 68.
