Gritty Clippers stave off elimination, beat Suns 116-102

PHOENIX — Paul George scored 41 points, Reggie Jackson added 23 and the resilient Los Angeles Clippers staved off elimination by beating the Phoenix Suns 116-102 on Monday night in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals.

To the editor: Schools deserve fair funding

Due to the current flawed school funding formula being used in the state of Ohio, over the past eight years as a “capped” school district Washington Local Schools have been shortchanged by more than $106 million dollars in state education funding that is rightly theirs based upon annual student enrollment data (2013-2021). In essence, WLS does not receive a single state dollar to fund the education of the roughly 2,000 Whitmer High School students each year.

Dr. Stephanie Matuszak [1958-2021]

Dr. Stephanie Matuszak, a physician at McLaren St. Luke's Hospital whose easy laugh and compassionate nature endeared her to patients and co-workers alike, died June 21. She was 62.
