To the editor: Get real about critical race theory

Lately we have heard a lot about critical race theory and whether it should be discussed in our public schools. It is often characterized as "white shaming." But from my reading, under critical race theory, white people are no more inherently depraved than any other group of people. Instead, it proposes that race is a social construct and in actuality, skin color is no different than hair color or eye color.
