DeWine seeks to save parental consent mandate for social media

COLUMBUS — Gov. Mike DeWine on Monday called on state lawmakers to keep in the budget they send to his desk this month a proposed mandate that social media like TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and multi-player gaming platforms get permission from parents of children under age 16 before granting them access.

Court orders ballot board to rewrite special election ballot language

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Supreme Court on Monday ordered a Republican-controlled state panel to reconvene and rewrite language that voters will see on Aug. 8 when deciding whether to amend the Ohio Constitution now to make it tougher for them to amend it in the future.
