Ohio justices ask whether abortion vote affects six-week ban case

COLUMBUS — Ohio's top court on Thursday indicated that it may take last week’s adoption by voters of a constitutional right to abortion access into consideration as it decides whether to restore a strict ban on most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy.

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Oakland Athletics’ move to Las Vegas was unanimously approved Thursday by Major League Baseball team owners, cementing the sport’s first relocation since 2005, according to two people familiar with the vote.

More than 20 local artists will display and sell their creative wares at the Arts Commission’s Local Artist Holiday Trunk Show at the Edward D Libbey House at 2008 Scottwood Ave. on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The fun kicks off on Friday night from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the preview party, which includes live painting demonstration, courtesy of local artist Aaron Bivens, as well as raffles, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. To the editor: Ohio can be a swing state again

On Nov. 7, Ohio voters approved a constitutional amendment to protect abortion rights and a citizen-initiated statute to legalize recreational marijuana. Given that ex-President Donald Trump carried Ohio twice, and nearly every statewide elected official here is a Republican, this may seem surprising. It shouldn’t.
