WHILE INVESTIGATIONS continue into the death of Christopher Phillip, a 62-year-old man who collapsed and died at the entrance of the Port of Spain General Hospital (PoSGH), the Ministry of Health has accepted no blame in his death, saying that all protocols were followed in treating him before he died but that Phillip discharged himself from the hospital, against the advice of doctors.

A RETIRED police officer who was convicted of raping a 27-year-old netball player in 2010, has been sentenced to 17 years’ imprisonment with hard labour by a High Court judge .

FORMER Chief of Defense (CDS) Staff Major General Kenrick Maharaj has applied under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) for a copy of a, “Report of Proceedings of the Board of Inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the matter involving children handling weapons belonging to Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force.” The application was made on Monday and Maharaj has been told he has to wait 20 days for a response for the information applied for.
