The Mets and Grimace connection has gotten wild with costumed fans chugging beer and Empire State Building tributes
It was just 15 days ago as of posting this that Grimace from McDonald’s threw out a first pitch at a New York Mets game.
Since then, the team has been on a tear, and the memes that the whole thing sparked are so good.
Now, it’s getting wild. We’ve got fans dressing in Grimace costumes at games, and during a pretty fierce storm at Citi Field on Wednesday, someone in one of those costumes chugged a beer as fans cheered the purple creature on.
Also, the Empire State Building went purple for Grimace’s birthday … but the social media account for the building tagged the Mets after they beat the Yankees. So it’s definitely to celebrate the Grimace and Mets connection:
