Nevada Democrats hold power as legislature starts today
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada's legislature was scheduled Monday to start its session as the first state in the U.S. with an overall majority female legislature. Democrats hold control over the Legislature, with a two-thirds supermajority in the Assembly and a majority in the Senate. Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak has proposed progressive initiatives and Democratic lawmakers have said they plan to revisit bills that were vetoed by the former Republican Gov.
