NBN write-down inevitable after ‘disastrous’ roll out: Quigley

The former boss of the NBN believes the value of the network will be slashed due to the ‘disastrous’ roll out of the service. Mike Quigley says the Coalition’s decision to scrap fibre-to-the-premises could cost taxpayers tens of billions of dollars. Labor claims the $50 billion value of the NBN is less than its construction costs and the money it would cost to fix the service. The NBN is due for completion by 2020.

CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) — A southeastern New Mexico high school has imposed crowd restrictions after improper behavior from student fans. The Carlsbad Current-Argus reports Carlsbad High School Athletic Director James Johns announced this week he was barring students from sitting on the bottom row of the bleachers during games. Harlow White was sentenced Friday in federal court in Phoenix after previously pleading guilty to money laundering charges.
