The American Petroleum Institute reported late Tuesday that U.S. crude supplies fell by 2.6 million barrels for the week ended March 8, according to sources. The API also reportedly showed that gasoline stockpiles dropped by 5.8 million barrels, while distillate inventories rose by 195,000 barrels. Inventory data from the Energy Information Administration will be released Wednesday.
