Aviation regulator DGCA on Tuesday directed all airport operators to carry out compulsory periodic inspection of runway surface. A bench of Justices B P Dharmadhikari and Swapna Joshi upheld the death penalty given to Eknath Kumbharkar, convicted for killing his 18-year-old pregnant daughter in 2013, because she had married outside their caste. JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd Tuesday reported a multi-fold jump in consolidated net profit of Rs 53.75 crore for the first quarter ended June 30. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 3.12 crore in the April-June quarter a year ago, JK Lakshmi Cement (JKLC) said in a BSE filing.
