Cape Town - Fresh from their Africa Cup of Nations conquest, the South African men's hockey team will go up against the world's leading countries in the FIH (International Hockey Federation) Hockey Pro League, which starts in early February, in Potchefstroom.

The 8 December 2021 was a day of celebration for the South African hockey community with the Executive Board (EB) of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) approving the participation of South Africa in the third edition of the Men’s FIH Hockey Pro League. Their first match will be against the Netherlands on 8 February 2022.

Five T&T women hockey players have tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) yesterday and that meant that the team finished sixth overall at the Pan American Hockey Challenge Cup Tournament in Santiago, Chile.

SANTIAGO, Chile – In an even contest that could have gone either team’s way, the No. 22 U.S. Men’s National Team took on hosts No. 27 Chile in the 2022 Pan American Cup (PAC) Semifinals. Scoreless through regulation, Chile defeated USA in the shootout 3-1, dashing the red, white and blue’s chances of World Cup qualification.

Late offense from Canada not enough to upset the world number 7

When Canada scored two quick goals in the fourth, off the sticks of Devohn Noronha Teixeira and Matt Sarmento, memories of previous Red Caribou comebacks starting to creep in. Argentina snuffed out those dreams by scoring a penalty stroke in the final minute resulting in a 5-2 victory for Los Leones.

Argentina powered their way to a 5-2 semifinal win over Canada to punch their ticket to the 2022 World Cup hosted later this year in India. The Indians left behind the disappointment of their semi-final defeat to Korea and controlled the proceedings in the first two quarters, scoring two goals in the process, to go into half time with a 2-0 lead against China.

India beat China 2-0 to win the bronze medal in the Women’s Hockey Asia Cup 2022 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, Oman on Friday.

Playing like team possessed, defending champions India showcased a kind of rhythm that they seemed to have retrieved, for once, to clinch the bronze match today at the Sultan Qaboos in Muscat. With a goal apiece from Sharmiala Devi and Gurjit Kaur early in the proceedings Savita’s outfit overcame fighting China 2-0 to get their seventh meal at Asia Cup, third bronze.

Japan won the Women's Hockey Asia Cup in Oman by defeating three-time champions South Korea 4-2 in he final at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.

Japan were crowned champion at the Women’s Asia Cup Muscat 2022, after they defeated Korea by four goals to two.
