The Netherlands Announces Official Closing Of Groningen Gas Fields

The Groningen gas fields will be turned off on October 1 of this year, and permanently close next October, The Netherlands Minister of Mines confirmed on Friday. According to Netherlands Mines Minister Hans Vijlbrief, the fields, set to shut down on October 1, will remain in operational status for another year just in case the country finds itself on the energy backfoot with an exceptionally cold winter, Vijlbrief said. 1 dead and 1 injured after a small plane crashes into northern Lake Michigan

The Coast Guard and a news report say a small plane has crashed into northern Lake Michigan near Beaver Island, killing one person and injuring another. Lt. Phillip Gurtler says a Coast Guard helicopter was in the area for training and responded quickly to the crash site. He says it rescued one person who was in the water. Gurtler says the rescued person said a second person was trapped in the submerged wreckage. 1st US charges against China-based companies accused of selling fentanyl chemicals filed
