College coaches, recruits happy to meet face to face again
Until now, Beagle's conversations with college coaches were on the phone or on Zoom or FaceTime. They couldn’t watch him play live, either, because of the NCAA imposing a recruiting “dead” period that lasted almost 15 months because of COVID-19.
Coaches had to give recruits virtual online tours of the campus instead of the real thing. On Tuesday, Beagle toured UAlbany with his parents and brother.
"The thing about me is, I'm going with the people, not the school, no matter what level," Beagle said. "I want to be able to develop relationships with all the coaches on the staff and make sure they're in it for me too - academically and sports-wise."
