NATIONAL SUMMARY
As a potent storm system pushes across the Great Lakes
region today, thunderstorms capable of producing high winds,
hail, flash flooding and a few tornadoes will advance to the
east across the Midwest. Meanwhile, more downpours capable
of producing flash flooding and locally severe thunderstorms
will extend from Missouri to the Carolinas. More severe
storms are forecast to erupt in parts of Wyoming and
Colorado late in the day before pushing onto the central
Plains at night. Much of New England and the coastal
mid-Atlantic can expect a dry day. Cooler and less humid air
will expand over the northern Plains. Meanwhile, very hot
air and blazing sunshine will continue from much of Florida
to interior California. More temperate conditions are in
store for the Northwest with abundant sunshine.
