Man shares genius hack to get a trolley even if you don’t have a £1 coin, and it doesn’t cost a thing
THERE are few things more annoying than getting to the supermarket and forgetting your pound for the trolley.
But one man has shared a genius hack to get yourself out of that situation – and it won’t cost you a penny.
It’s the perfect hack to use if you need a trolley but forgot your pound[/caption]Meka took to TikTok to explain his hack, holding a red button as he said: “I’ve got a trick – I’m just at Lidl and I’ve got a button.
“Watch this.
“Let’s see if it works!”
He then pushed the button into the trolley slot which usually requires a pound.
And he couldn’t believe it when the bolt of the next trolley popped open.
“Come on!” he exclaimed.
“Trolley hack, thank me later!” Meka captioned his video.
People were quick to thank him for sharing the clever trick, with one writing: “We all gonna be popping our buttons off at Tesco!”
“Let me borrow that button,” another commented.
“Life hacks!” a third wrote.
While others shared their own hacks to use if you forget your trolley pound.
“You can use the back of your door key too,” one wrote.
As another added: “Two 20ps on top of each other works as well!”
Tasha had previously been left stunned by the 20ps trick, after being shown it at the supermarket.
According to Tasha, she was shown the hack at her local Tesco and the mum was left in utter shock when it worked on her trolley.
In the caption, she even wrote: “When some lady shows you this at Tesco…how am I only just learning this?”
Unsurprisingly, she wasn’t the only one who was impressed by the thrifty tip and her video rapidly went viral – gaining over 3 million views.
In the comments, her followers gushed about the hack and one even wrote: “Literally running to a supermarket to try this out!!!”
But other shoppers admitted the hack hadn’t worked for them.
“I did this in Aldi and it got stuck… a bunch of people surrounded the trolley helping me get it out,” another woman confessed, adding: “…they probably thought I had no brain cells.”
And even supermarket workers warned against tricking the hack, with one writing: “Please don’t.
“They get stuck and I spend most of my shift trying to remove 20ps from trolleys.”
