There's no requirement to take part in Presidential debates. So will 2024 candidates participate? "60-65% of the public say the debates are a factor in how they vote," says Frank Fahrenkopf, Co-Chair of the Committee on Presidential Debates. The debate's role is "trying to get people interested in the election and knowing where the candidates stand on the issues that are important to them."
