The Marin Art and Garden Center opened its “Winter Wonderland” event on Friday.
The offerings include outdoor skating on a “synthetic ice” rink amid “snow” made from soap bubbles; a warming hut with heat lamps and a fire; a light installation with a children’s scavenger hunt; hot cocoa, cider and cookie decorating; a crafts fair; and a bake sale.
The event is scheduled to run through Dec. 10. This weekend and next, the Ross Valley Players plan to present “It’s a Wonderful Life” in the Barn Theater. On Thursday, the fair will include a Hanukkah celebration with songs and a candle-lighting.
The center is at 30 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. in Ross. Tickets and the schedule are available online at maringarden.org/winterwonderland. Tickets are required to skate.
