UFC Austin live blog: Beneil Dariush vs. Arman Tsarukyan

This is the UFC Austin live blog for Beneil Dariush vs. Arman Tsarukyan, the lightweight main event on Saturday in Austin, Tex.

One of the very best lightweights in the world, Dariush strung together an eight-fight win streak to get himself on the cusp of title contention last year. Unfortunately for Dariush, he couldn’t quite close the deal, falling short in his title eliminator bout against Charles Oliveira in June. In his first fight since that defeat, Dariush hopes to rebound emphatically and reinsert himself in the title conversation with a win over Tsarukyan.

After making his UFC debut against Islam Makhachev and exceeding expectations, Tsarukyan quickly became one of the hottest prospects in MMA. Since then, he’s backed up the hype, winning seven of eight with his lone loss being a controversial decision to Mateusz Gamrot. Now firmly in the top 10, Tsarukyan hopes to put himself into the top five with a win over Dariush.
