Akash Chauhan, the son of social activist Pale Ram who was murdered for protesting against illegal sand mining, pursued a law degree to fight his father's case. After 10 years, a father-son duo was handed a life sentence for the murder. Pale Ram's murder came after his efforts to stop the sand mafia from mining on the Yamuna floodplains. Akash filed a complaint naming Rajpal Chauhan and his sons as the killers, leading to the conviction of Rajpal and one of his sons.
