The BJP got nearly 49% votes, the highest it secured in the last two decades and the party won 48 of the 79 seats which it had marked as weak, for itself. Besides the Laadli Behna scheme, the fact that the BJP deployed its MPs, including Union ministers from every region of Madhya Pradesh to contest the assembly polls, has worked in its favour.
