Instant Analysis: Miami Dolphins 45, Washington Commanders 15
Quick thoughts from South Florida Sun Sentinel staffers on the Miami Dolphins’ win over the Washington Commanders at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland:
Dave Hyde, Columnist
The Dolphins keep piling up wins against bad teams — just like you’re supposed to do on this league. With mismatches across the board, this was over early. The biggest mismatch was Tyreek Hill against anyone as he got deep twice and put himself squarely in the MVP race.
Chris Perkins, Dolphins Columnist
The Dolphins were simply too good for the Commanders in all three phases. But you wonder whether Miami can stay healthy enough for a strong stretch run. Left tackle Terron Armstead and right guard Rob Hunt left the game with injuries. The Dolphins have two more games — vs. Tennessee and vs. the New York Jets — to get healthy before it ends the regular season against Dallas, Baltimore and Buffalo.

It’s the Miami Dolphins kicking off December with a win. These indeed are new times we’re living in. Dolphins were in command all the way, from Tyreek Hill’s early touchdown through his next one and the Andrew Van Ginkel pick-six in between. This team can actually clinch the division in two weeks with another pair of wins and a Bills loss next week at Kansas City.

Another decisive win where the patchwork Miami offensive line kept Tua Tagovailoa basically clean, and another game of Tagovailoa hitting Tyreek Hill, roaring multiple yards behind the last defender, for long touchdowns. Next up, a Monday night matchup against the Tennessee Titans, with their rookie quarterback, Will Levis.

Another exhilarating, seemingly joystick-aided domination of an NFL have-not by the Dolphins keeps the pressure on the Chiefs, Ravens and Jaguars to keep winning in the quest for prized No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs and the bye week. They get two more, and then the litmus tests resume. But, at 11-3, unlike last year, they would have locked up a playoff spot through 14 games. Tyreek Hill absolutely deserves deep, quarterback-caliber MVP consideration.
