Glamorous ITV drama axed as show boss swipes ‘I had more stories to tell’ in poignant message to fans
ITV drama Riches has officially been dumped by the network after just one series.
The glamorous high-stakes drama will not continue on after its first series, much to the disappointment of the show’s creator.

In the show, fans were introduced to the wealthy and slick Richards family.
The stylish family were forced to deal with a crisis when their business mogul leader passed away and his estranged kids from the US soon arrived in an attempt to put their mark on the family empire.
ITVX launched the series on its streaming platform earlier this year with the programme also airing on Amazon Prime Video outside of the UK.
Abby Ajayi created the series and admitted she had lots more stories to tell from the show.
She confirmed that it had been axed when she shared a message with her fans on Instagram.
Abby wrote: “This time last year we launched [Riches]. Much love to this incredible ensemble of actors and our fabulous crew…
“Thank you to everyone who supported. So proud we got to make this show. “
Taking a final swipe at the brutal cull, she added: “I still had many more stories to tell…And it was gonna be [fire emoji].”
Deborah Ayorinde headed up the cast and was joined by co-stars Hugh Quarshie and Sarah Niles.
They were joined by Adeyinka Akinrinade, Ola Orebiyi, Nneka Okoye and Emmanuel Imani.
Riches was one of many new big-budget dramas to launch on ITVX before making its debut on the linear channel.
