Couple punched two teen girls in row over bunting for King’s Coronation
AN ANGRY dad and his then-partner seriously assaulted a pair of teenagers after they ripped down bunting that was put up to celebrate King Charles’ coronation.
William Macauley, 36, was caged for 15 months after he burst a teenage girl’s lip following the row.
Macauley, of Larkhall, admitted to assaulting 18-year-old Erin Burnside to severe injury on May 7 this year.
His ex, Louissa Dunn, admitted punching Kerry McTaggart, also 18, and will undertake 80 hours of unpaid community work.
The couple’s home was decorated alongside others for the coronation, Hamilton Sheriff Court heard.
Erin was treated in hospital for cuts to her eyebrows and lip.
Her pal was not injured, reports the Daily Record.
The couple were also accused of making sectarian remarks but their not guilty pleas were accepted by the sheriff.
