Foodies don’t hold back as lad shows off his festive work meal that looks more like ‘scraps’
A CHRISTMAS dinner served at a work party has been slammed by people online as looking like “depression on a plate.”
Nurse Stephen Charleston caused a stir when he shared a photo of the festive meal that his pal had been given at the event.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Stephen said: “My mate is at his works Christmas Dinner event in Nottingham and just sent me this….”
Although the image was shared last year, it has resurfaced this year on Instagram.
The poster added the caption: “The state of this.”
Christmas dinners are supposed to be a delicious feast, but the empty-looking plate looked a far cry from this.
It included just two roast potatoes, a thin slab of turkey, just one pig-in-blanket and a few measly helpings of carrot and parsnips.
The dish was finished off with a coating of watery gravy.
Many people were quick to comment on the lacklustre dish, with one saying: “Where’s the rest of it?”
Another added: “If depression was Christmas dinner.”
And a third wrote: “Even school Christmas dinners were better than that lmao.”
However, one person pointed out: “wait, you guys are getting a work Christmas meal?!”
