I was not there for your memory gig, but when they returned as Top of the Bill, in about Jan/Feb.... might have been pe-christmas even.... bloody altzheimers....! Love Me Do had made it to number 17, and they were the BIGGEST band to ever appear at the Co-Op.
It was an automatic re-booking with NEMS.... the Co-op manager told us a year or so later..... when we were booking the Hall for a student Rag Do. I think he dined out on his booking the Beatles.
Cost £150 the first time,and they were a lowly support band, but had a record coming out...Cost £500 when re-booked 2 months later.
NEMS was always on-the-ball they should have run Apple.
