CT man killed after leaving road, striking tree in Middletown
A man was killed in a crash in Middletown Wednesday night when he left the road and struck a tree.
The crash was reported after 11:30 p.m. on Atkins Street in the area of Timber Ridge Road, where police found 30-year-old Matthew Le Clair of Middletown suffering from serious injuries in a heavily damaged 2015 Infinity Q50, according to the Middletown Police Department.
Le Clair was extricated from the vehicle by members of the Westfield Fire Department before he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Le Clair’s family and friends,” Middletown police Chief Erik Costa said in a statement Thursday.
The police department’s traffic division is investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
