Russia is gearing up to host the World Youth Festival, an international event scheduled to take place from March 1st to March 17th, 2024, in Sirius, Russia.
Dmitry Zhirnov, Russia’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, stated in an interview with Khaama Press on Thursday that this global festival is a highly content-rich and engaging program, encompassing speeches, negotiations, exhibitions, cultural activities, sports competitions, joint exercises, tourist tours, artistic performances, interviews, concerts, and academic and educational lectures.
According to him, this festival continues to be an opportunity to showcase the achievements of regions, unions, organizations, universities, and higher education institutions that host more than 20,000 students from various countries worldwide in Russia.
Mr. Zhirnov highlighted that as per the plans for organizing this festival, 10,000 Russian citizens, including 500 youths under 18 years of age, and an equal number of foreign participants, will take part in this international event. The application process for participation in the festival began on June 24, 2023.
The main events of the festival will be held from March 1 to March 7, 2024, in the federal territory of Sirius, and following that, a regional program will be launched and conducted from March 10 to March 17, 2024.
Foreign participants will visit 30 Russian cities, and according to the ambassador, all guests “will see memorable places for our country, get acquainted with the cultural and national diversity of Russia, and visit technology and industrial companies.”
Mr. Zhirnov spoke about the overall goal of this festival: The festival program is built around a set of global human values. We invite young people from around the world to think together and discuss how to create a future world where everyone can live comfortably.
He added that this not only includes discussions and speeches but also an exhibition program, cultural exchange, sports competitions, joint educational activities, voluntary activities, and joint travel designed for visiting historical sites in Russia.
