My friend sacked me as a bridesmaid after I spent $2k on her wedding, now she gets no bachelorette & it serves her right
FROM dictating dress codes to bossing around bridesmaids, everyone has heard Bridezilla horror stories.
One woman got the perfect revenge on her rude friend after she was kicked out of her bridal party.
In a Reddit post, the ex-bridesmaid recounted the confusing behavior of the bride-to-be in the lead-up to her wedding.
Giving some background, the unnamed woman explained that she is a full-time student.
“I am currently living off student loans and what little hours I can work outside of school,” she said.
Despite her financial situation, the bridesmaid still forked out $2,000 for her friend’s wedding celebrations.
She broke down her budget, which included buying a bridesmaid dress, flights home for the big day, and a bridal shower gift.
The Reddit user also planned a surprise bachelorette party for her friend complete with a rented limo for bar hopping.
“As of right now the other bridesmaids did not chip in, this was out of pocket, but they said they would pay me back later,” she revealed.
However, the group never got to go on the bachelorette trip as the bride switched up her bridesmaid lineup.
“About a month later I and two other girls got kicked from the bridal party group chat,” the poster explained.
She added that they also received “a paragraph from the bride saying we were no longer invited because we weren’t ‘honoring her wishes.'”
The bride never expanded on her reasoning but reinstated the three women shortly after.
Not long after, the Reddit user was kicked out of the bridal party once again.
The bride reached out to her and said she could come to the wedding but only as a guest.
After declining her offer, the former bridesmaid canceled the limo and Airbnb she booked for the bachelorette.
While the other bridesmaids agreed that this was a fair call, the bride “lashed out” at her friend.
“She messaged me telling me I’m an asshole and I’ve ruined her entire wedding as she now doesn’t have time to book a new bachelorette party in time,” she explained.
Reddit users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the situation.
” I’m sorry that this happened, she seems like an entitled snob and it sounds like you dodged a bullet there,” commented one reader.
“If you’re no longer in the bridal party, and not even going to the wedding, you should get a refund for what you can,” another person said.
“Sounds like a toddler with all the temper tantrums, I’d bill her for [what] she owes you and good luck to the future partner, they are going to need it!” wrote a third commenter.
