According to the complaint, Vela was waiting at a red light at the intersection of La Brea Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard when his Hyundai Elantra was struck by Ruck, who was driving a Rivian R1T pickup truck. As a result of the impact, Vela asserts that his car was propelled into the intersection, resulting in a collision with another vehicle making a turn onto La Brea Avenue. Subsequently, Vela was transported by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and his vehicle was towed from the scene.
