I live in a different van next to my husband, it gives us space but means I have to do a ‘walk of shame’ every morning
WHILE some married couples sleep in different rooms, two van dwellers have taken their setup a step further.
The happy pair revealed that they own two vans, which they park next to each other and live in separately.
In her video, Court (@courtandnate) took her followers along for a typical day in her life.
The TikToker explained the unique living situation she shares with her husband Nate.
“Up until recently Nate and I always worked together and spent most of our time together,” Court said.
“Nate has a full-time stationary job now so we keep two vans so that we can each have a little bit of freedom and flexibility in our personal schedules,” she continued.
“Now that our schedules are a little bit more separate it makes the time that we do spend together feel that much more special,” she added.
While the couple still sleep in the same bed and watch TV together they use their respective vans to spend time alone.
“We usually alternate between which van we’re going to sleep in,” Court said.
“I always feel like I’m doing a little walk of shame when I’m leaving Nate’s van in the morning,” she joked.
She added that it’s “really nice to start the day with a little extra space, some peace and quiet, while we do our own morning routines.”
Typically, the pair get ready for the day separately and then enjoy a morning coffee and walk together.
“Once we make our coffees we typically meet up on the sidewalk for a little pow-wow,” she told her viewers.
While Nate goes to work, Court said she likes to stay “busy and productive.”
This usually involves walking their dog Tonkins before meeting Nate after he clocks off.
“Nate has a big TV in his van so we usually watch a little bit in his and then head to mine because Tonkins has his bed there,” she said.
TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the setup.
“Van life as a couple with two vans sounds so much more appealing than sharing one,” wrote one viewer.
“Oh my god!!! This is so smart!!! Two separate spaces!?! I want this in my future marriage,” said another impressed follower.
“This is so wholesome,” commented a third person.
