How to wrap Christmas gifts when you’ve run out of paper or cut it too small & why you should always keep old crisp bags
MANY people will know the frustration of trying to wrap a Christmas present and being short on wrapping paper by a tiny slither.
But thankfully there could be an easy way to solve the issue without buying another roll.
Andre, who shares handy tips on his @andrelifehack account, shared how you may just need to rotate the item.
If you are wrapping a square item but the paper doesn’t quite cover the top, you should turn the box by 45 degrees.
This will mean one of the points is at the top.
Then you fold the Christmas wrapping paper in diagonally, corner by corner, and the whole gift will be covered without needing more paper.
Andre also shared why you should not throw away your old crisp packets either.
Once you are done tucking into the crisps, turn the bag inside out so the foil side is outside.
After giving it a thorough wash, you can then use it as a shiny metallic bag for wrapping presents – just secure it with a ribbon and you are ready to go.
Andre also shared other wrapping tips, including cutting a bow from another piece of wrapping paper to decorate a gift.
He also showed how to leave one edge of a parcel unwrapped to make a pretty “handle” for carrying the gift.
Place a ribbon at the edge, and then fold down the paper until the present is wrapped.
You can then use the ribbon as a handle.
Many people were impressed, with the video racking up over 10,000 likes.
One person wrote: “This will help me a lot, not wasting my Paper.”
Another added: “Inside out chip bag and a ribbon is BRILLIANT.”
Meanwhile, a third commented “Wish I saw this before wrapping my gifts”, and one said: “Genius.”
