The World Bank has initiated a comprehensive program to address India's severe air pollution crisis, targeting the impact of ambient particulate matter (PM)2.5 pollution on its 1.4 billion population. The program includes the introduction of airshed management tools, development of State-wide Air Quality Action Plans, and creation of the first extensive Regional Airshed Action Plan for the Indo-Gangetic Plains (IGP).
