Gabrielle Union's Funny Mishap at the Playground With Daughter Kaavia Has Major Monday Energy

Gabrielle Union-Wade may have gone to the playground to play, but the playground played her instead.

Over the weekend, the actress accompanied her 5-year-old daughter Kaavia on a mommy-and-me date at the park. The Bring It On alum shared footage on Instagram of their outing, which included clips of Union-Wade finding herself in an unexpected altercation with a certain piece of equipment.

The 51-year-old joined her toddler to go down a side-by-side slide, and she ended up in a hilariously compromised position while attempting to descend the slope. Union-Wade was holding Kaavia’s backpack in one hand with her purse on the opposite shoulder, and as she pushed off the top of the slide, the strap of her handbag got stuck on the center divider, bringing her to an abrupt halt with her arm cranked over her head.

“It’s rare that I get caught up but the slide had other plans ????,” Union-Wade poked fun at herself in the caption. She also paired a cheeky audio clip with the footage: “Yup, that’s me. You’re probably wondering how I ended up in this situation,” played before transitioning to “Rasputin” by Boney M. In addition to posting the funny video on her grid, the Good Deeds actress also shared it on her story with the caption, “I almost ripped my arm out the socket ???????????????????? I was hurtin!”

Union Wade getting stuck on the slide is chuckle-worthy in itself, but her daughter’s reaction was the cherry on top of the sundae. After the little girl landed on her feet, she turned around to see her mom splayed out on the slide, caught by her purse. Though Kaavia’s face wasn’t visible, her body language made it clear that she thought her mom was up to some tomfoolery.

“It’s Kaav turning around like ‘girl be fr’ for me ????????????,” one fan wrote in the comments. Another person shared, “I know shady baby be like girl if u don’t unhand yourself right now ????” — Kaavia’s sass is legendary, after all!
