Pens Points: Multiple Streaks Snapped

The Penguins took home two points last night with many other encouraging signs of life.

The Penguins hosted West Mifflin native Logan Cooley and the Arizona Coyotes at PPG Paints Arena Tuesday night. In what has been a rarity all season, the Penguins put on something of a clinic, with Jake Guentzel and Jeff Carter scoring two goals each, the team converted on the power play for the first time this century and a lengthy losing streak was snapped. Amongst all the issues the Penguins have faced this season, 5-on-5 play has not been one, but that facet of their game is starting a downward trajectory as well. [Pensburgh]

Stuck in what seems like a never-ending rut, the Penguins continued to adjust their power play combinations in hope of finding anything that will produce a spark to the units. [The Hockey News]
