Brazilian left-back Joaquin Piquerez has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur in the past, and the player himself has now spoken of his ‘dream’ of playing in Europe – but he has revealed he is happy where he is for now.
You might think Tottenham are fine as they are when it comes to the left side of defence, given the incredible form of Destiny Udogie since his arrival in North London this summer.
Still, Ange Postecoglou is known to be looking to add more depth to his squad, especially given the spate of injuries that have hit Spurs in recent weeks.
With Ben Davies operating more as a centre-back these days, and Ryan Sessegnon and Ivan Perisic injured, there is talk of Postecoglou looking for a new left-back in the January transfer window.

Are Spurs going to sign Joaquin Piquerez?
According to Diego Firmino, the Lilywhites have been looking at Joaquin Piquerez. This was corroborated by Bolvaip Brazil (as relayed by Sport Witness), who claimed the player could be available for €10m (£8.7m) in January.
Now, ESPN Brazil has further information on Piquerez’s situation, with the player himself sharing his feelings regarding the future.
He said: “I want to keep growing, I’m happy at Palmeiras, I have the dream of playing in Europe, but I enjoy the present and I want to keep winning titles for Palmeiras.”
The 25-year-old was recently named by TV Gazeta as the best left-back in the Brazilian league, so it’s no surprise he is attracting attention from England, but whether a move will come to fruition next month remains to be seen.
Spurs Web Opinion
Obviously, Ivan Perisic is never going to play for Spurs again, and who knows what condition Ryan Sessegnon will return in (or how long he can stay fit for this time).
It makes sense for us to start thinking about signing a backup to Destiny Udogie, and Piquerez could be a high-quality, reasonably-priced option.
