Fatal hit-and-run on Beltway Inner Loop in Montgomery Co.; some lanes blocked for investigation

A pedestrian is dead following a hit-and-run crash that happened at a work zone on the Beltway Inner Loop Wednesday morning, and police are restricting traffic in Montgomery County, Maryland, during the investigation.
The person was struck at around 10:15 a.m. and Maryland State Police said the driver fled the scene after the crash.
Two lanes of traffic in the area of eastbound I-495 and Georgia Avenue are blocked, according to a news release from police.
The pedestrian hasn’t been publicly identified.

Police have asked that anyone who witnessed the crash contact the Rockville Barrack at 301-424-2101 and tips can be anonymous.
