BBC Breakfast’s Charlie Stayt swipes at ‘unhelpful’ Naga Munchetty – as fans brand star ‘rude and immature’
CHARLIE Stayt took a swipe at Naga Munchetty branding her ‘unhelpful’ during this morning’s show.
The two BBC Breakfast presenters were bringing viewers the latest news from across the country.
But during some downtime on the show Charlie attempted a Christmas challenge.
Naga informed viewers at home how every year GCHQ releases a problem-solving test.
This year’s challenge is said to be the “trickiest Christmas challenge so far” which is aimed at children aged 11 to 18.
However, a special bonus challenge was set for the BBC Breakfast team which Charlie attempted to solve.
The anchor was given three clues with five letter answers which would lead him to cracking the correct answer.
But as Charlie got to work with his pen and paper he quickly became frustrated with Naga, 48.
The 61-year-old swiped: “I was actually trying to do it then and you were just constantly telling me I was getting it wrong.
“I was writing things down and you were literally saying, ‘No that’s not right, no that’s not right’.”
Naga replied by saying she was trying to be helpful because his answer was “not right”.
The awkward exchange continued as Charlie clapped back: “Well I’ve got to try. It’s not helpful is it?”
In a bid to help him again, Naga went over the clues before asking: “Does that make sense Charlie? You’re huffing.”
Charlie said how John Watson would soon join them to present the sports news and probably knew the answers, which Naga agreed.
“Well he probably does know all the answers. There’s nothing wrong with knowing the answers,” she said.
In a final swipe, Charlie said: “Well give people a chance to think for a moment.”
Their exchange came before viewers slammed both presenters as “immature” on social media.
One fan had said: “Champagne socialist Naga and charlie are in full immature, unprofessional and p*** taking mode today.”
A second posted: “How rude is Naga Munchetty….not the first time I have heard her be rude and arrogant.”
