NFL Best Bets, Week 15: A Scumbag rebound by betting HARD against Bill Belichick

After a season of chalk, the NFL finally gave us an upset-filled week.

No one would confuse Week 14 for good football, but there was still a measure of excitement in the 15-game slate. The New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers played a tight game whose second half was an affront to the modern passing game. The Dallas Cowboys proved they’re a worthy NFC contender by dusting the Philadelphia Eagles in prime time. The Minnesota Vikings and Las Vegas Raiders showed us what it would look like if the 2022 Iowa Hawkeyes were somehow able to play the 2023 Iowa Hawkeyes. This was terrible news for anyone who bet the over, like our resident handicapper, the Rhode Island Scumbag.

Week 14 was his first truly bad week of the year, which is a testament to how good his locks have been this fall. But winter has traditionally been the time he cools off and there’s more money to be made fading him — see 2021’s glorious winless streak from Week 18 through the playoffs. Will he once again cool off as his attention turns to spamming our group chats with pictures of beef wellington or whatever the hell he’s grilling for the holiday? Or will his profitable 2023 continue with only minor disruptions?
