Agua Caliente Casino Rancho Mirage will host rock and roll tribute shows
While some of rock and roll’s most prominent stars may still be touring (I’m looking at you, Rolling Stones), others can’t for various reasons. But that doesn’t mean their spirit in live music can’t live on.
Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage will host a series of tribute acts that will pay homage to legendary rock groups and lead up to a special concert dubbed Agua TributeFest, with Def Leppard Van Halen and Journey cover bands. The series of shows begins in January and runs through May. Tickets go on sale on Jan. 12 at aguacalientecasinos.com.

One Vision of Queen Featuring Marc Martel: Canadian rock singer Marc Martel will channel the voice of legendary frontman Freddy Mercury in the Queen tribute. 8 p.m. Jan. 6. $40-$85.
The Rat Pack Tribute: The Rat Pack is a group of singers who dazzled Las Vegas in the ’60s and helped cement the city’s place in entertainment. Guests can travel back in time with this show and see performers imitate Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and even catch Marilyn Monroe. 8 p.m. Jan. 12. $20-$165.
ARRIVAL From Sweden: The Music of ABBA: Founded by Vicky Zetterberg in 1995 in Gothenburg, Sweden, the group has earned its name as one of the most well-known ABBA tribute bands. The band has toured in 70 countries and appeared in several TV and radio shows worldwide. 8 p.m. Feb. 23. $20-$65.
Zeppelin USA: This Led Zeppelin tribute band prefers to lead with the music and keep things simple by not dressing up like the original act. Formed in 2013, the band has performed in Southern California and Las Vegas. 8 p.m. March. 8. $20-$55.
The Rocketman Show: This Elton John tribute acts stars Scotsman Rus Anderson – Elton John’s official ’70s body double as featured in the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” world tour. Chosen by the man himself, Anderson’s performance includes a night of greatest hits, costumes, and, of course, piano playing. The act has been featured in E!’s “Clash of the Cover Bands.” 8 p.m. March. 15. $20-$75.
Rumours – A Fleetwood Mac Tribute: Formed in 1999, Rumours Of Fleetwood Mac has toured globally and earned its name with an endorsement by founding Fleetwood Mac member Mick Fleetwood. 8 p.m. March. 22. $20-$75.
Agua TributeFest: Rock Brigade (Tribute to Def Leppard), Completely Unchained (Tribute to Van Halen), DSB (Tribute to Journey): The series of tribute shows will end with performances by Rock Brigade (Tribute to Def Leppard), Completely Unchained (Tribute to Van Halen) and DSB (Tribute to Journey). 6 p.m. May 18. $20-$60.
