The science and technology department has recently conducted a meeting to discuss on a proposal to upgrade the Institute of Mathematics and Application (IMA) Bhubaneswar to a unitary university. Science and technology minister Ashok Chandra Panda told TOI that the state government has a plan for converting this institution into a university. “Before taking any such step, necessary infrastructure should be developed. Let the institute send their recommendations on this matter. We will discuss this after getting the recommendations,” he added.
